About Us

EVA studios (formerly Exeter Artspaces) is a provider of studios for artists and makers in Exeter and the South-West region.

The studios are currently the working space for 35 studio holders, working across a range of disciplines, such as jewellery, painting and sculpture, ceramics, installation art, photography, textiles, etc. EVA welcomes visual artists and makers at different career stages from recent graduates to working professionals.

You can find a list of current studio holders, some images of their work and links to their personal websites on the Studio Holders page. Studio holders take part in different events throughout the year, such as Devon Open Studios and Exeter Open Studios, where the public can meet the artists, view the different studios and see what artists actually do.

If you are interested in a studio space please have a look at the Studios/Workspace page, where there is more information about current availability, viewing dates and an application form to be added to the waiting list.

EVA studios also have a Project Space, which is available for use both by studio holders and for external rent. It's ideal for talks, workshops and a working space to make large-scale artworks. In the past the Project Space has been used for amongst other things in-house exhibitions, associate members exhibitions and life drawing classes. If you are interested in using the project space for your project please use the Contact page to contact the Office Manager.

You don't have to be a studio holder to become involved with the EVA community. The studios have a diverse group of associate members, some previous studio holders, who support the studios. You can find a list current associate members, images of their work and links to their personal websites on the Associate Members page, where you can also find more information should you wish to become an associate member.
